5th Grade Extended Learning Block SEL Activity
Along with the enriched learning our students are receiving in the classroom, time is being taken for social-emotional learning. The 5th grade team worked on some team building on Monday. The students were put into teams of 2 and then given 2 pieces of construction paper and glue sticks. (No scissors) They had to see which team, and then which class could create the longest paper chain. #ENJOY #FarmerFUN

🎼Ms. Martin's Classes Making Music🎶
Ms. Martin's music classes were making some magical tunes this week. This class played the song "Baby Elephant Walk" with plastic tubes. These weren't just any tubes, though. Each tube plays a specific note whenever they hit. Each student was responsible for playing their own note once it was on the screen. The students did an AMAZING job! #ENJOY #FarmerFUN
Play-doh Sight Words and X-rays🦴
Mrs. Fruendt's class had a blast learning last week!
Learning new sight words can be tricky but practicing with play-doh and bee bots makes it easier! Check out their words little and three!
They focused on letter Xx. They practiced it as a beginning and ending sound. But the highlight was looking at x-rays of animals and the human body. They learned that the biggest bone in our body is the femur(leg) and the smallest is in our ear. To finish the week, they made their own X-rays. The X-rays were kid size!😊

Here are some more desk pet pictures! #ENJOY #FarmerFUN
🐹 Mrs. Collins' Class DESK PETS! 🦔
Mrs. Collins’ class has brought desk pets to Farmington Elementary! Students started a new behavior/work completion incentive to go along with their Dojo points. Students had to read over a “contract,” and fill out “real” adoption papers. Each student got to take home a shelter for their pet and decorate it at home. Friday, students got to adopt a desk pet of their choice! Pets can live with students at their desks, unless dojo points go too low, or work is not completed-then the pets will be taken to the pound. Mrs. Collins is hoping this will both motivate and be something fun for the students to have these last 5 weeks!
