Play-doh Sight Words and X-rays🦴
Mrs. Fruendt's class had a blast learning last week!
Learning new sight words can be tricky but practicing with play-doh and bee bots makes it easier! Check out their words little and three!
They focused on letter Xx. They practiced it as a beginning and ending sound. But the highlight was looking at x-rays of animals and the human body. They learned that the biggest bone in our body is the femur(leg) and the smallest is in our ear. To finish the week, they made their own X-rays. The X-rays were kid size!😊

🐹 Mrs. Collins' Class DESK PETS Part 2! 🦔
Here are some more desk pet pictures! #ENJOY #FarmerFUN

🐹 Mrs. Collins' Class DESK PETS! 🦔
Mrs. Collins’ class has brought desk pets to Farmington Elementary! Students started a new behavior/work completion incentive to go along with their Dojo points. Students had to read over a “contract,” and fill out “real” adoption papers. Each student got to take home a shelter for their pet and decorate it at home. Friday, students got to adopt a desk pet of their choice! Pets can live with students at their desks, unless dojo points go too low, or work is not completed-then the pets will be taken to the pound. Mrs. Collins is hoping this will both motivate and be something fun for the students to have these last 5 weeks!

🐛Mrs. Fruendt's Class Has Gone Buggy!🦋
This week Mrs. Fruendt's Class has been learning about bugs! So many interesting facts have kept them “crawling “ for more. They built bugs with pattern blocks as they finished the lesson graphing, sorting and counting the blocks they used. They wrote 3 facts in their journals about real bugs and then silly writing about what really “bugs” them with family and friends😊
Enjoy the pics of buggy learning! 🐞

🧩 Life Skills Class celebrated Autism Awareness Month this week. After reading books about treating people with kindness and talking about individual strengths and interests, each student picked one way they would "choose kind." #Enjoy #FarmerFun 🧩

This week Mrs. Unkrich's class learned the words oviparous and viviparous. Animals that lay eggs are oviparous. Animals that do not lay eggs are viviparous. Most reptiles, amphibians, and birds are oviparous, and most mammals are viviparous. They read two books titled Chickens Aren't the Only Ones by Ruth Heller and a non fiction text written by Christie Beriener, What's Hatchin' Chick? Today her students stopped at animal stations around the room and decide which animals to place in the correct category. #Enjoy #FarmerFun

🧵 Graphing in Ms. Parrish's Class is "Sew" Cool! 🧵
Ms. Parrish's class have been working on graphing on the coordinate plane. To demonstrate their knowledge of ordered pairs, students poked holes for the correct coordinates and sewed to create the graph. Their work was impressive to say the least.

*2nd Grade Math Made FUN!*
This week Mrs. Thompson's class used a fun interactive math game to gain understanding and practice with fractions. This hands on activity had students using a electronic "fraction spinner" to select a fraction. Students would then race to see how many fraction pieces it would take to make a whole number. It was quite enjoyable seeing students so excited to "play" with fractions! #ENJOY
