Good evening, It has come to our attention today that a member of our school community who teaches across all grade levels of our Jr. High and Elementary schools has tested positive for COVID-19. We will be working with local health departments for contact tracing to see which students were in direct contact. With the amount of students impacted, this will take a few days for us to get coordinated. For this reason, Farmington Central Jr. High and Elementary schools will be remote learning for the week beginning Monday October 19th with students returning no sooner than Monday October 26th. If your child was in direct contact, you will be receiving additional communication in the coming days. Teachers will be sending out communication and assignments to your student through their email and Google Classroom. Elementary student devices can be picked up tomorrow (October 19th) beginning at 9:30 am and continue till 5:30 PM. Again, Farmington Central Jr. High and Elementary schools will be remote learning for the week beginning Monday October 19th with students returning no sooner than Monday October 26th.
This is a reminder that the 2019-2020 Elementary and Junior High yearbook orders are due October 15. Please use this link to order.

At the start of the 20-21 school year Farmington Central CUSD #265 made two options available for families to choose between either remote or in-person learning with the requirement of staying enrolled throughout the first 9 weeks. The first 9 weeks are coming to a close on October 14, 2020. Therefore, we are sending out a Google form to inquire whether or not you would like to request a change in your students method of learning. You will need to fill out the Google form, ONLY if you are making a change. This link was sent to your email.
Deadline for completing the form will be 3:30 pm, Tuesday, October 13, 2020. The return date for students will be the week of October 19-23. This will give our administration, teachers, custodians, secretaries and transportation enough time to fully prepare for the return of students. You will hear from the administration prior to October 19th with further instructions.
If you have any questions please call or email Denise Strube-Pieper at 309-245-1000 ext. 4 or dstrube-pieper@dist265.com.
This Friday (October 2nd) is another "Fun Friday" at Farmington Schools and this time, we will have Superhero Day! We are very proud of our super students and all they have endured since March 2020.
Our students truly have superhuman powers!
On Friday, we encourage our students to dress up as their favorite superhero! Feel free to dress up as whoever you consider to be a superhero! We hope to see several of our students participate!
FCJHS Families:
Per Dr. Chatterton's announcement on 9/21/2020, Thursday, October 8 & Friday, October 9 will be remote learning for all FCCUSD 265 students. While students will have remote projects &/or activities to do, teachers will not be available to meet with our students. Instead, teachers will be reaching out to talk more in depth with you about how the school year is going so far, and remote vs. face to face learning. As you know the 1st quarter end looms near & any decisions to change placement will need to be made known to the district by Tuesday, 10/13/2020. More information will become available next week from FCCUSD 265 Central Office regarding how and where to report that information.
Also on October 8 & October 9, Grab-N-Go Sack Meals will be available. However, those will need to be ordered by tomorrow, 9/30/2020. A pdf of this order form has been sent to your email.
PICTURE RETAKES ARE SCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER 20
New order forms and a different code will be provided closer to the date as will further details for remote learners.
Tomorrow night (9/25), the high school will have their very own version of “Friday Night Lights”. The football team will be practicing, the cheerleaders will be cheering, and the band will be performing. The evening will kickoff at 7:15pm when the Golden Wave Band will play the school song. This will be followed by football practice and sideline cheerleaders performing. Families and fans are encouraged to attend. Seating in the home bleachers will be by reservation only. If you plan to attend and want to sit in the home bleachers, contact Activities Director Jeff Flater at jflater@dist265.com. There will be designated areas for all other spectators. In addition, entrance into the stadium will require a face covering. So, if you’re missing the Farmington Stadium lights on, the band playing, the cheers yelling, and footballs flying in the air, come out on Friday, Sept. 25 for a fun-filled night.
Junior High Students, if you are planning to attend the “Friday Night Lights” event planned for tomorrow, you will need to be accompanied by a parent and be required to sit with them. Wandering around and playing football in open spaces will not be allowed due to Covid restrictions and social distancing.
The lunch menu has changed for Monday September 21st. We will be serving spaghetti instead of tenderloin.
