Farmington High School Football is playing for Blackout night tonight against Elmwood/ Brimfield. Game starts at 7 pm. Just a reminder that any JH student attending the game must be accompanied with an adult.
Good luck to the Cross Country team as they travel to Detweiller Park for the Dunlap Invite at 4:00 PM today. As of right now, this meet is still on. We will let you know if the weather impacts today’s meet.
September is National Suicide Prevention Month. For many of us, school and extracurricular activities play a central role in our lives. They give us a sense of purpose, provide us with direction, inspire us to set goals, and boost our self-confidence. Feeling connected to our school community helps us feel fulfilled. Not into athletics or academics? Yet another way we can combat suicide is by becoming a mentor for others or finiding a mentor for ourselves.
There was an old Chinese proverb that says “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” The meaning of this proverb is that it can be more beneficial in the long run to teach a person how to do something than to do that something for them.
