Farmington Central Junior High

Good Morning Farmers!  Today is Thursday, September 7th!  It is the 16th day of school!

Happy Birthday to the amazing Mrs. Kennelly!

Lunch for today: Nachos, Burrito, or PBJ

We have a full slate of athletic competitions going on today.  First of all, the boys baseball team is taking on Peoria Heights at 4:15.  It is 8th grade day for the baseball team.  At 4:30, our softball team begins their postseason play as they host Norwood.  Finally, good luck to our cross country team as they travel to Schuyler-Industry for a meet beginning at 4:30.

The junior high Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) will be meeting Friday morning at 7:30 AM in Miss Clayton’s classroom. All students are welcome to join this great club! We are excited to see you there!

Attention Speechies: If you have turned in your permission form or if you have it with you today, please report to the library for instructions on choosing your speeches  IMMEDIATELY following the announcements!

Students, we have accumulated many lost and found items located outside of the office. Please check to see if you are missing any clothing, shoes,  water bottle or school supply items. We will be getting rid of what is left after tomorrow.

There will be a tornado drill at 8:45 this morning.  Teachers will go over the procedures for tornado drill with you shortly.  It is important that voices are turned off in the hallway during this drill.  In a real event, Mr. Uptmor and the staff will need to communicate and be able to hear.  This can only be done if our voices are turned off in the hallway today.  We will practice doing “head down and cover”.

An old proverb says “If you have much, give your wealth.  If you have little, give your heart.”  This quote is saying that if you are rich or wealthy, then you should share with others who may not be as blessed as you.  Giving your heart is the same as giving wealth when you don’t have much to give.  Saying kind things to others, giving kind gestures, or welcoming in new friends shows heart. You can not put a price on a giving heart.

At this time, will you please rise for the pledge:

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic, for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Farmer Four:

I am respectful

Today is National Salami Day!  Salami goes to the doctor.  The doctor says, “I can’t help you, you’re already cured!”

Have a great day Farmers!!!
