Today NHS hosted our first Farmer Frenzy of the year! We were able to celebrate our September Students of the Month, Addison Martin, Don Deppermann, Jaycee Emery, and Lynsey Shriber, our September Staff Member of the Month, Mr. Asplund, and our 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year...Mrs. Littrel! Griffin Wheeler is the 2026 Sunshine Award Winner. As always, the students patiently waited for their favorite back-to-school moment with the hype video from Mr. Otto. Today also came with a little motivational speech about not being afraid to try new things or stepping up to be a leader. We are set for a great 2026-2027 school year. Let's go, Farmers!

Lucky Draw Day was a success. We loved seeing all of our winners make their way down to the office to claim their prizes. There were so many smiles and great moments captured! Check out some of the highlights below.

A big thank you to Mrs. Perardi, Mr. Otto, and Dr. Chatterton for selecting our winners today and to our teachers for passing out tickets the last two weeks to the students!

Stay tuned...more fun coming next week.

We're proud to celebrate one of our own! Congratulations to Elise Haroldson for receiving a publishing contract!

She states, "It has been fun to share my journey with these students for the past two years. This publishing contract for my young adult fantasy series is an answer to many prayers. Book one of The Treeple Chronicles will be released in May of 2027! "

This is an incredible accomplishment that reflects her dedication, creativity, and passion. We are fortunate to have someone on our team who continues to inspire both inside and outside of the classroom.

ABC Days brought the energy this week. From cooling off with Icee pops, to Jersey day and a little friendly competition with Kahoot in the Kafeteria, we have been making the most of every moment.

It's always a good week when you see smiles, laughter, and a little teamwork mixed in. Thanks to everyone who jumped in and made it fun!

April Farmer Frenzy was one to remember, thanks to Mr. Otto.

Our senior spring athletes took time to pause and reflect on their journeys by recognizing the hard work, growth, and memories that have shaped their high school careers. Each student gave a heartfelt shoutout to a staff member or coach who made a lasting impact on their success...and those moments never get old.

One of the best parts? Welcoming our junior high and grade school students to join us. It's powerful to see how far these relationships reach with many of the teachers being recognized and helped lay the foundation years ago.

The finish line is getting close, Seniors...make these moments count!

Farmer Time got competitive yesterday with an estimate game inspired by The Price is Right. Students worked in their groups to estimate the cost of 10 different items including things like a Chromebook charger and their teacher's favorite coffee drink.

Some groups were really locked in and thinking through their strategy, making it a close competition across the board. In the end, Ms. Anderson's class took the win, and every student earned a prize from the prize cart!

🍩 Donut Day Reflections 🍩

Today was all about learning from the past and looking ahead. Students took time to reflect on the choices, habits, and moments they're ready to leave behind. They had a lot they 'donut' want to repeat.

We heard things like:
"I donut want to procrastinate again in high school."
"I donut want to wait and let my work pile up."
"I donut want to be scared to speak up about something that bothers me."
"I donut want to almost fail a class."
"I donut want to get too many tardies and get a detention again."
"I donut want to 'presentate'..." (yes, the students have created their own word.).
"I donut want to wear skinny jeans again."

Overall there was honesty, growth and even a little humor mixed in, and that is what the day is all about . Thank you to our students for being real and willing to grow and to Mrs. Perardi for organizing Donut Day!

ABC Countdown- "C" is for Candy Count Day

Today, students are putting their guessing (and math!) skills to the test by trying to figure out exactly how many pieces of candy are in the jar!

Some have taken this very seriously by using estimation strategies and calculations to get as close as possible. Shoutout to Mr. Otto for modeling the jar so everyone could get a better idea of its size before making their guesses.

Now we want to hear from YOU....what's your guess??

Stay tuned to see who comes the closest!
