Saturday, September 8th:
Golden Wave Marching Band will compete in the Washington Panther Marching Band Competition
at Washington H.S. They will perform their field show at 1:42.
Load trailer 10:30AM / Bus departs 11AM / Bus returns 6PM, unload trailer
9AM Cross Country will compete in the First to the Finish Invitational at Detweiller Park. Bus departs 7:15.
9AM JV Volleyball will compete in the North Fulton Tournament at Cuba H.S. Bus departs 8:00.
Congratulations to Mr. Herink for being selected as the September Staff Member of the Month! Mr. Herink graduated from Western Illinois University and then moved to become a USAF Musician. He has been married to his wife Karol for 29 years, has 4 children, 2 grandchildren and 2 more grandchildren on the way. This is his 28th year of teaching, with 17 of them at FCHS. He enjoys fishing, targets, bike riding, reading and listening to music. Congratulations Mr. Herink!
Auditions for the 2019 Winter guard Team will be Thursday September 13 after school meeting in the Research Center. Please see Mr. Lambert for any questions.
Sophomores, check your email! A Google Form was sent out yesterday morning to vote for class officers. Voting will end next Tuesday, September 11th at 3:45.
Any Juniors interested in a career in Nursing and who is interested in participating in the Certified Nursing Assistant Program (CNA) NEXT school year please see Mrs. Neave in the Guidance Office.
With the Midterm Elections right around the corner, the League of Women's Voters will be coming to Farmington Central High School today for a mock election. The voting booths will be set up in the auditorium & students can vote during their lunch periods. The polls should be open between 10:45 am - 12:30 pm. Make your vote count!
The next available test date for any Seniors wishing to retake the SAT exam is October 6th. If you are interested, please see Mrs. Neave in the Guidance Office for more details.
Key Club dues are due to Mr. Lambert by next Friday, September 14th. Cost is $15.
Seniors: your shirt order forms will be handed today. Please see Mr. Lambert for a copy.
Seniors: we will be selling Krispie Kreme starting today. Please pick up an order form with Mr. Lambert.
Juniors - Class shirt order forms are in your email. Orders and money are due back to either Miss Burdess or Mrs. Bochniak TODAY.
A reminder that Blackout shirts will be in next week. We will hand them out to your enrichment teacher and will make an announcement when they are to be picked up.
FCHS 2018 presents: “Dancing With The Stars” Homecoming! Events will run during enrichment the week of September 24th. The parade will be Friday September 28th at 3pm. If you would like to enter a float, please email Mr. Lambert. The dance will be Saturday night at FCHS gym. Cost to attend is $7 single; $10 couple. If you plan to bring a student from another school, those forms are available in the office and need to be turned in by Friday of next week.
Game club will meet after school TODAY.
Freshmen need to report to the cafeteria at this time to discuss election process and future events. Mrs. Burklund and Mrs. Suter will be there to lead the meeting.
There will be a Sophomore meeting with Josten’s in the Auditorium during Enrichment on Monday.
