- Logan Archdale was selected as November’s Senior of the Month. Logan is a strong academic student as he is in the top 25% of his class and is a member of our National Honor Society chapter. Along with his studies, Logan is involved in various extracurricular activities which include: Marching, Concert, and Pep Band, Drama Club, Harvest Leadership Team, Fellowship of a Christian Athlete, International Thespian Society, and stage manager for numerous drama productions. In addition to his extensive involvement in school, Logan finds time to give back as he volunteers within the community. He has brought joy to others as he drums with the worship team at Canton Northwoods, and he also devotes his time to helping the Hanna City Park District. Logan will attend a 4 year university next year where he will then decide his major while completing his general education courses. Congratulations, Logan!
- Congratulations to Freshman of the Month- Rosie Irvin. Rosie is involved in Basketball, Golf, Harvest Team, Drama Club, and Band. Rosie enjoys spending time with family and playing the guitar. She also reads lunar chronicles in her spare time. Rosie plans to attend college after high school to study Forensic Biology and Criminal Justice. Congratulations, Rosie!
Congratulations to Sophomore of the Month- Trena Austin. Trena is involved in cross country. Trena enjoys spending time with family and watching movies. Trena’s active participation with her church is something she cherishes and she often helps organize and host local events. Trena plans to major in nursing and overall seek a career as an Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner. Congratulations, Trena!
Congratulations to Junior of the Month- Violet Easley. Violet is involved in Cross Country, Track, Harvest Team, Key Club, Colorguard, Winterguard, Drama Club, Game Club, Book Club, Art Club, Speech Team, Spanish Club, and Band. Violet enjoys cooking, going to the gym, and hiking. Violet plans on attending a four-year university where she will double major in Spanish and teaching. She hopes to travel to Spanish speaking countries and teach English to Spanish speaking people. Congratulations, Violet!
Mr. Begner was selected as November Staff Member of the Month. Mr. Begner has been teaching in the district for 13 years working throughout the district in P.E. and Drivers Education. Outside of school he spends his time building a life with his wife and 3 kids. Mr. Begner enjoys his spare time by raising all the animals on his property, enjoying outdoor recreational activities, hunting and building the numerous projects his wife continues to dream up. Congratulations, Mr. Begner!
FFA and Art Club are selling poinsettias and holiday cards as a fundraiser.
The poinsettias are 6.5" pinched poinsettias with 5 or more blooms. The colors available are red, white, and candy stripe. The poinsettias are $15 each and the holiday cards are $2 each. Orders close November 5th. If you would like to buy one, please see an FFA or Art Club member to order.
This Wednesday, November 3rd at 6:00 p.m. Harvest Team members Riley Jansen, Delaney Foster, and Carlee Taylor are holding a dodgeball tournament in the high school gym to raise money for the St. Jude foundation. The sign-up sheets will be found outside of the high school office and please turn them into Brandi or Susan. The teams will be made up of any 10 individuals you would like. Each team should pick their own appropriate theme and team name (examples could be tie dye, beach/hawaiian, neon, or USA). The cost to play is $3 per player which as stated previously will be donated to the St. Jude foundation. Please try to have the sign-up forms turned into the office by the end of the day on November 1st. Thank you and we hope to see you all there!
Morgan Neptun and Bailey Kennelly’s Harvest Team project, we will be hosting a Rake-n-Run this Sunday, November 7th from 1-4 pm. Essentially we will go to different houses and rake their yards for them (with their permission). This is a really great opportunity to earn volunteer hours if you still need them. If you know of anyone who may need help with their ranking, feel free to let Morgan or Bailey know and we can add them to the list.
Seniors- Josten’s will be here to take your graduation orders TOMORROW, November 2nd during the lunch hours. Please be sure to turn in your orders at this time. Any Senior who missed the class meeting, please pick up your packet from Brandi in the office.
