The Illinois Foundation FFA makes an incredible impact on over 20,000 FFA members throughout the state. Each year, the Illinois Foundation FFA hosts the Local Collection Drive. The Local Collection Drive serves as the Foundation’s main source of donations. These donations go to fund contests, awards, conferences, and activities throughout the State of Illinois. The FFA chapter will be selling T-shirts to support the foundation for $20. You can find the form in your email!
October is National Bullying Prevention Month, and we can all do our part to stop bullying in our schools. The easiest thing we all can do is to treat everyone with respect. Nobody should be mean to others. Stop and think before you say or do
something that could hurt someone. Keep in mind, everyone is different. Not better or worse, just different. Treat others the way you would want to be treated.
Sam McMillin and Carlee Taylor are hosting a powderpuff event for their fall Harvest Team project on Monday, October 11th at 9:30 AM, at the high school football field. Sign-ups are outside the office door. Students who are participating must sign their waiver and have it turned into the office by this Friday at 3:04. Students participating in the event on Monday must wear their class colors and should bring a canned good for Farmers Feeding Farmers. If you have any questions please email Sam or Carlee.

The junior class is taking orders for Tanner’s Orchard Apple Cider Donuts through October 27th. Cost is $12/dozen. Delivery will be the afternoon of Friday, November 5th. Anyone wishing to place an order please see a junior student or Mrs. Gibbs in the high school office. Thank you for supporting our fundraising efforts for this year’s prom!!
Tired of being limited to just the books in your English teacher's classroom? Apply for a library card at Farmington Area Public Library. Applications can be found on the table outside the high school office and should be turned in to the library across the street behind County Market.

FAFSA Night will be held tomorrow evening, October 6th from 5:30PM - 6:30PM in the high school auditorium. A representative from SRC will be holding a presentation about FAFSA and will also be available to assist families with the financial aid online application process. Please attend in person with your Chromebook. Please note that due to a new state law in 2020, all seniors will be required to complete FAFSA in order to receive a diploma and graduate.
Harvest Team Leaders Josie Gibbs and Arynn Sievers are running the 2021 Pink Out event. They sold shirts and will have a bake sale at the Volleyball game this Thursday. Make sure to wear your Pink Out Shirt this Thursday to show your support. All funds raised will go to support local families who are facing personal battles with cancer.
Mrs. Haynes will be holding individual meetings with students through October 6th to discuss semester two course changes. If you are interested in requesting a course change for the second semester, please sign up for a scheduled time.
