Adriane Morse was selected as October’s Senior of the Month. Adriane excels academically as she is ranked in the top 10 percent of her class and is a member of our National Honor Society chapter. Along with her studies, Adriane is involved in various extracurricular activities which include: Marching Band, Volleyball, Basketball, Science Olympiad, Winterguard, Theater, Spanish Club, FFA, and ACES team. In addition to her extensive involvement in school, Adriane finds time to give back as she volunteers within the community. She has dedicated many hours delivering Thanksgiving meals throughout Peoria for SouthSide Mission. She has also helped with the Special Olympics in Bloomington. Adriane plans to attend The University of Illinois-Champaign next year where she will major in Biology. Congratulations, Adriane!
The girls golf team finished up their season at the Frye Lake Golf Course at the Sherrard Regional. The team finished 5th place out of 12 teams but missed out moving to sectionals by 3 strokes. The team scored a 429 and Canton scored a 426. The top 4 scores for the day were Emma Evans with an 88, Ella Smith 105, Faith Wheeler 114, and Anna Webel finished with a 122. With a score of 88, Emma Evans moves on to the Kewanee Dunes for the Geneseo Sectional. Emma tied with the 4th best score at the Regional. Please congratulate the girls on a great season and wish Emma good luck on Monday at the Geneseo Sectional as she tries to be the first girl to reach state as a Farmington Farmer golfer. Ladies, as your coach I am so extremely proud of each of you. It’s a great day to be a Farmer!!

FAFSA Night will be held on October 6th from 5:30PM - 6:30PM in the high school auditorium. A representative from SRC will be holding a presentation about FAFSA and will also be available to assist families with the financial aid online application process. Please attend in person with your Chromebook. Please note that due to a new state law in 2020, all seniors will be required to complete FAFSA in order to receive a diploma and graduate.
There will be a junior class officer meeting today in Mrs. White’s room.
There will be a meeting in Mr. Paul’s room (643) during 4th hour today for anyone interested in working on the 2022 yearbook.
- Harvest Team will be taking a group photo today during activity hour in the gym. Please dress accordingly.
Harvest Team Leaders Josie Gibbs and Arynn Sievers are running the 2021 Pink Out event. They sold shirts and will have a bake sale at the Football game tonight and the Volleyball game next week. All funds raised will go to support local families who are facing personal battles with cancer.
There will be an Art Club meeting today in the art room during activity hour. If you can't make it or have another meeting, please email Mrs. Simaytis or stop by the art room.
- Mrs. Haynes will be holding individual meetings with students from October 1st-October 6th to discuss semester two course changes. If you are interested in requesting a course change for the second semester, please sign up for a scheduled time.
