Congratulations to March Staff Member of the Month, Mr. Paul. He lives in Peoria with his wife, 2 cats, and a dog. He has two daughters and will become a grandfather later this month. He is the advisor for the yearbook, ACES team, and the game club. He is also very suspicious of how he was chosen as staff member of the month. Congratulations, Mr. Paul!
Hello everyone, like last year FCHS will have a powderpuff football game, the forms for the game are outside the main doors and they must be signed and returned to either the office or Josh McMillin by next Friday March 12th. Players as well as coaches for each grade are needed as well as people to announce, run the clock, and to be officials. If you have any interest in those please contact Josh. Thanks.
Emma Evans will be hosting SMACKDOWN on Wednesday, March 17th at 6 pm. Sign ups are shirt order forms are in the office and shirt order forms can also be found in your email. All money raised will go to the ‘Miss You Can Do It’ Pageant for disabled children. Please let Emma Evans know if you have any questions.”
For Kaiya Hintz and Trista Nichols’ Harvest Team project they are wanting to bring
more awareness to different types of cancers that are not as well known, yet are the deadliest
to those who are diagnosed with them. There will be a donation bin set up each Friday of
March, near the front doors, where you can drop off gifts for cancer patients. This can
include any warm wear, blankets, socks, gum, hand sanitizer, lotion, chapstick, activity
books, journals, or hard candy. There will be a list on the bin with more donation ideas. For
the month of March we will be focusing on 4 of the top deadliest cancers, one for each week
in March. At the end of the week on Friday we encourage the students of FCHS to wear the
color of the cancer’s ribbon to bring awareness and support for the cause. This week the
focus is on Prostate cancer where the ribbon color is sky blue.
97% of those that are diagnosed with prostate cancer are over the age of 50.
Football practice starts TODAY after school.
