Ag Fact of the Day: FFA is not just for students who want to be production farmers; FFA also welcomes members who aspire to careers as teachers, doctors, scientists, business owners and more. For this reason, the name of the organization was updated in 1988 after a vote of national convention delegates to reflect the growing diversity and new opportunities in the industry of agriculture.
FFA continues to help the next generation rise up to meet those challenges by helping its members to develop their own unique talents and explore their interests in a broad range of agricultural career pathways. So today, we are still the Future Farmers of America. But, we are the Future Biologists, Future Chemists, Future Veterinarians, Future Engineers and Future Entrepreneurs of America, too.
Attention VARSITY ONLY Football players: The team will have a voluntary meeting this Sunday, February 28th from 6-8PM in the gym.
Seniors, graduation orders will be delivered this Friday during lunch periods. Please bring any outstanding payment for Jostens.
Anyone interested in participating in High School Baseball please contact Coach Begner for pre-season hitting and throwing dates.
Farmington Central HS coops with Illini Bluffs in Boys Soccer. This program is open to any FCHS student. A google form was sent to all FCHS students yesterday seeking interest. If you are interested in playing soccer this spring, please complete the form. If you have any questions, you may contact Mr. Flater.
Farmington/IB Soccer will be having an open gym in the Illini Bluffs Elementary School gym tonight and Thursday from 6-7:30. Enter through Door 4. Please try to attend at least one of these days so we can determine how many players we have. If unable to attend but plan on playing please contact Mr Flater.
Those seniors who are interested in attending Carl Sandburg College, Spoon River College, or ICC after high school, please let Ms. Smith know to be entered into a drawing. Seniors have a chance to win gifts, goodies, or merchandise from any of these community colleges. To be entered, please send Ms. Smith an email with your t-shirt size and college choice. The drawing will take place on Friday the 26th.
Dual Credit Placement Testing for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year will take place on March 2nd @1pm. Sophomore and Junior students who registered for dual credit classes in the fall will report to the Computer Lab with their Chromebooks for the Reading and Math Accuplacer. Please email Ms. Smith for questions.
Seniors, please stop by the high school office for the Farmington Central Academic Foundation Scholarship Award Application if you need one. All applications are due by noon tomorrow, February 25th. Please submit applications to Ms. Smith.
