A big congratulations to our Senior of the Month, Lane Wheelwright! Lane led our football team to one of the most successful football seasons that Farmington has ever seen as the quarterback. Not only was Lane an essential part of the football team, but he is also an integral part of the baseball team for the last four years as well. Lane plans to continue to play football at North Central and major in Business Entrepreneurship. Lane states that his top accomplishments of his high school career are being the Senior of the Month, the 2024 PJ Star Football Player of the Year, and the 1st Team All-State Quarterback with the first football semi final appearance in school history. In addition, Lane has made not once, but twice the first team All-Conference for baseball and football. While Lane is an incredibly talented athlete, what is equally impressive is his commitment to his academics. Lane has remained a High Honor Roll student all four years of high school while also completing many dual credit courses. Outside of athletics and academics, Lane enjoys spending time with his friends and family. Congratulations, Lane, we look forward to continuing to see your success.
For April, Anthony Zotto was named our Junior of the month. Anthony participates in both golf and track. He is also part of Key Club, Winterguard/Colorguard, Scholastic Bowl, Drama Club, Game Club, Science Olympiad, and the Trap Team. In addition to his time spent in sports and clubs, Anthony still finds time to participate in the band, too. After high school, he plans to attend Vincennes University for two years and then transfer over to Purdue. One of his accomplishments is making it to State each year for Science Olympiad. When Anthony does have free time, he really enjoys playing games with his friends. We are proud of you, Anthony!
Our Sophomore April Student of the Month is Katie Capitani. Katie is part of the Farmers softball team, and she is also active with many clubs and organizations like FFA, Drama Club, and Bass Fishing. Katie has big aspirations for her future and plans to graduate from U of I with her PhD in Veterinary Medicine so that she can start a vet clinic in Montana. When not busy with school, Katie has several activities that she enjoys doing like playing guitar, hanging out with friends, hunting or mudding, and playing with her dog. Congratulations, Katie!
This month we recognize Mya Melton as our Freshman Student of the Month. Mya is in Key Club and Art Club. Mya plans to go to BYU and get a degree in education. She dreams of teaching elementary students and leading her own classroom. One of Mya's accomplishments is maintaining a 4.0 GPA throughout her entire high school career. While not at school, she enjoys reading, crocheting, and spending time with friends and family. Way to go, Mya!
