  • Our February Senior of the Month is Landon Crusen. He is part of the Farmington football team. After high school Landon plans to attend a four-year university to study business management or sports management. Landon states that, “Some of my biggest accomplishments are being an All-Conference Honorable Mention for the football team that made school history. Another accomplishment of mine is earning academic high honors, which has helped me earn college academic scholarships.” When outside of school, Landon enjoys spending time with friends, being outside, and seeing concerts. Congratulations, Landon!


  • Congratulations to our Junior of the Month, Levi Lekies. At Farmington Central High School, Levi has taken advantage of many extra-curricular opportunities like Key Club, Scholastic Bowl, and Science Olympiad. He also participates in band and jazz band. After high school, Levi plans to go to college and major in psychology. When asked what his biggest accomplishment was, Levi said, “Making the ILMEA District Band sophomore year, making the Prairieland All-Conference team sophomore year, and also participating in multiple honor bands throughout high school. I am learning my 7th instrument (Bassoon).” Levi has also taken the time to learn French and Latin. When not busy, Levi likes to play video games, spend time with friends, play the clarinet, or read. Way to go, Levi!   


  • Bailey Emmons was nominated as February’s Sophomore of the Month at Farmington Central High School. She is part of the Farmington track team. In addition, she has big academic and career goals for herself. After high school she hopes to attend Auburn University to earn a Ph.D. in electrical engineering. Bailey states her biggest accomplishment has been holding herself to high academic standards and also starting her own successful business. When not at school or studying, you can find Bailey cooking, spending time outside preferably with friends and family or going to track meets. Keep reaching for the stars, Bailey. We are so proud of you! 


  • This February, Braylan Unkrich was named the Freshman student of the month. In his first year of high school, he has been a great asset to the Farmington FFA program. After high school, he plans on being a diesel mechanic. When asked what his biggest accomplishment is, Brayden states that getting all A’s and B’s throughout school makes him the most proud. When he is not at school, he enjoys hunting and fishing, and he states that he also likes to build things with his grandpa. Great job, Braylan! 

  • Mrs. Littrel was our January Staff Member of the Month. Mrs. Littrel is a compassionate teacher and mentor who holds her students to high standards while also understanding that they are unique individuals with unique situations, strengths, and needs. She also looks out for her fellow staff members as a valuable member of our union leadership and is the mom-away-from-mom we can all count on. Congratulations, Mrs. Littrel!

  • Congratulations to Miss Bowton on being our February Staff Member of the Month. Miss Bowton filled a very difficult and very important position in our school and hasn’t skipped a beat. She is a strong advocate and confidant for our students and has become an integral part of the inner workings of our school. We are SO lucky to have Miss Bowton with us!

  • CONGRATS to the competitive cheer team!! This past weekend they placed 3rd in their sectional and will be moving onto the STATE competition this Friday Feb. 7th in Bloomington. We hope to see you all there!!

  • If you would like to go to the IHSA State cheerleading competition on Friday to support the cheerleaders, but do not have a ride, we will take a fan bus if there are enough people to sign up. You will need to pay for your own ticket which will be $12. If you are interested, you can sign up in the office - you have until TODAY at 3:00 PM! You will need a planned absence form before you are allowed to go.

Students will be allowed to go on their own if you choose, HOWEVER, you must have a planned absence form. Those must be turned in by the end of the school day TODAY.    If you do not have a planned absence form turned in - you will not be able to go!

The girls will compete at 11:55 AM Friday. It will also be streaming on the NFHS Network.

  • On Thursday, Feb. 20th, all junior girls will need to attend a meeting in the auditorium during 5A. Students who have 5A lunch will need to communicate with their farmer time teacher that they will be taking 5B lunch that day.

  • Key Club is hosting a stuffed animal drive for Cuddles With Kindness, an organization dedicated to helping those in the children's hospital during trying times. All stuffed animals need to be new and can be left with your farmer time teacher. The winning farmer time will get a pizza party next week. All donations need to be turned in by this Friday. 

  • Art Club is hosting a Valentine's card making night! Next Wednesday, February 12th in the art room from 3-5 pm. Cost is $3 to join and all supplies are provided.

FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) meets every Friday in the Research Center at 7:15 in the morning. Come and enjoy some food and fellowship together. Every student that attends gets their name in the drawing for our monthly door prize.
