IPA

Jason Kennelly and Alexis Miller are recipients of  2024 FCHS Principal Leadership Awards.

Each year, the IPA (Illinois Principals Association) recognizes two remarkable students from each school for their outstanding work and leadership. Students are recognized annually at the CIV Region's Student Recognition Breakfast. Each area principal has a set of criteria used to appoint their respective students, including leadership, scholarship, community involvement, and character. Being recognized by the IPA indicates that the student exemplifies these qualities and reflects what school means to the students and local community.

IPA award winner Jason Kennelly has been actively involved in the school community throughout his entire career at FCHS. Over the past four years, Jason has been involved with FCA, Harvest Team, and has assisted the Activities Director with a variety of jobs around the school. Jason has received the freshman student of the month, senior student of the month, and the DAR Good Citizen Award during his high school career. Jason is very knowledgeable with technology and has played an integral role in helping set up sporting events.  Jason has helped live-stream events at the school and has served as a commentator for baseball and softball games. He has also helped organize basketball games as well as assisted the varsity football team by filming their events. Outside of school, Jason helps with the sound and lights for his local church. Jason has an interest in technology and communications and plans to earn a degree in the field. In his free time, Jason enjoys riding four wheelers and helping out at the farm. He is an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and has had the privilege of throwing out the first pitch for one of the games.

IPA award winner Alexis Miller has also been actively involved throughout her career at FCHS.  Alexis was the September student of the month and was selected by her teachers as the 2023-2024 FCHS student of the year. Alexis has been involved in many activities throughout her four years at FCHS including: Key Club, Theatre, Harvest Team, Art Club, Drama Club, National Honor Society, and Diversity Leadership Team.  Alexis received the Director's Award for her dedication to the theater program at FCHS and has held office rankings in most clubs she was involved in. In her spare time, Alexis enjoys painting, fishing, hiking, gardening, listening to podcasts, working, and watching “Holey Moley”. Alexis is an avid art lover and plans on majoring in Art Education. Her dream is to be an art teacher!

FCHS congratulates both students on their outstanding work and wishes them well in the future!
