Devin Johnson was selected as September’s Senior of the Month. Devin excels academically as he is in the top 10% of his class. Along with his studies, Devin is involved in various extracurricular activities which include: Jazz, Hoop, and Concert Band, Math Team, Chorus, and Game Club. He is also a member of the Theatre Department while serving as Drama Club President. In addition to his extensive involvement in school, Devin finds time to give back as he volunteers within the community. He provided musical entertainment for young children at VBS, served as a volunteer at SAMS where he was responsible for multiple jobs, and worked the annual theatre spring blood drive. He plans on attending The University of Illinois next year where he will major in Psychology. Congratulations, Devin! Please see Mrs. Clope by the end of the day.
Reminder to students to get your parking tag taken care of. This year’s tags are light blue. The parking lot will be checked starting next week. Parking tags are $5.00 and may be purchased in the office. Vehicle Information sheets must be completed in order to receive your tag.
Reminder to freshman class: Class Officer Petitions are due to class sponsors by Thursday, September 5th by 11AM. Also, Friday, September 6th, there will be a freshman class meeting in the cafeteria during Activity Hour to vote for class officers and homecoming attendants.
There will be a sophomore class meeting Thursday, September 5th during Activity Hour in the theatre.
Game club will meet after school Thursday in Mr. Paul’s room this week.
Josh McMillin is organizing a Farmington Powderpuff (girls football) game for his 2019 Harvest Team Project. There is a sign up sheet for all classes as well as a participation form, waiver, and rules available in the office. All proceeds will go towards the Susan G. Komen Memorial Affiliate. Please have the $15 for a shirt and all papers signed and turned in by Friday, September 13th. The games will be played on Saturday, October 5th at 10AM at the high school.
2019-2020 Athletic Event passes are available for purchase from the H.S. Office. The cost for an all year athletic pass is $50.00 for adults and $25.00 for students. Farmington H.S. students get into high school events for free, however junior high and elementary students still pay a gate fee. Fall Season Passes and Winter Season Passes are also available for $30/Adults and $15/Students. Please keep in mind that passes are not valid at any IHSA sponsored tournament. Junior class homecoming shirts will be available for $15 each, and profits go to support prom. Order forms can be found in your email or in Mrs. White's room. Orders and money will be due no later than 3pm on September 9th.
Juniors: Information about the Fall PSAT exam is in your email. The cost is $17 per student. Please see Mrs. Neave if you have questions or are interested in registering. Deadline is September 16th.
